CWA Bargaining Updates-Local 1105 & 1106 Tapes

1105 Tape
Monday January 30, 2012, 2:30 pm
A message from Keith Edwards….
Tape Number: 718-904-1105

Bargaining continued all last week with the Company responding to our data request for up to date information on: headcounts, call volumes and contractor expenses for the CSSC, MSSC, BSBC, EVRC and FSC. These are the five (5) departments that the Company wants to include in their call sharing proposal.

Verizon also gave us their proposals on wages for the first time. The offer was absolutely disgusting, and disrespectful to all members who work hard everyday to make Verizon profitable. It is pure greed by a Company that hates their employees and has a distain for this Union.

Verizon offered 0% (zero ) the first year, 1% (one) the second and third year while still demanding medical premiums, freezing pensions and 5 days for absences.

This is the same greedy maggot corporation that paid NO federal taxes and received a 1.3 BILLION in TAX REFUNDS. That means that we, the middle class, which Verizon is trying to destroy subsidized Verizon with our tax money. ONLY IN AMERICA!

This is why we need all members to continue to mobilize and give us 4 (four) hours a week to picket wireless stores, train stations and locations on your lunch hours.

We also need all members to call their Assembly members at (518) 455-4100 and State Senators at (518) 455-2800 and urge them to join Assembly member Cahill and Senator Peralta as co-sponsors of A175/S75 to push through the New York Call Center bill. This legislation would create major barriers to moving call center work out of New York State.

Please keep in touch with this tape on 718 904-1105 And Remember In Unity There is Strength!!!!!

CWA 1106 Tape

Wednesday, January 25, 2011

This is President Jerry Bulzomi.

I would like to thank the 150 members who showed up at the rally in front of the Jamaica C.O. last night. But, where were the other 1,000 members?

If you think that if you bury your head we’re going to get a contract, you’re wrong! Remember, when you no longer have medical benefits, bury your head. Let the 150 deal with it. When you don’t get anymore raises because the company already thinks that you’re over paid, bury your head. Let the 150 deal with it. When you don’t get sick time anymore and don’t get paid for it, bury your head. Let the 150 deal with it.

When are you going to understand that if you don’t involved & take your head of your ass & make some sacrifices we are no longer just talking about a contract. We are talking about survival.

There will be a Membership Meeting January 31st. Remember, there is no overtime on Membership Meeting nights.

There will be a Budget Meeting on February 8th. The only thing that can be discussed at the Budget Meeting is the budget.
