Verizon Emergency Management

New York City officials are requiring all motorists driving into Manhattan to have a minimum of three people in each vehicle.

If your supervisor has directed you to report to a Manhattan location, please consider carpooling to meet the three person per car requirement or drive in with a colleague in a Verizon marked company vehicle. If these aren’t viable options, employees working on the Hurricane Sandy restoration efforts should show their Verizon picture ID and explain they are part of the essential network recovery operations.

If access is denied or challenged, please ask the bridge or tunnel police officer to call one of the following numbers for approval into the New York City:

  • Office of Emergency Management, DoITT Emergency Desk: 718-422-8857
  • James M. Fowler, 1st Deputy Commissioner, DoITT: 347-768-2047
  • Evan Hines, Chief of Staff, Deputy Commissioner, DoITT: 646-421-0377
