One Nation March Oct 2, 2010

Local 1101 Members Got On The Bus!
CWA 1101 Members met in New York City at 5:30 A.M. for their journey to Washington, D.C. to attend the One Nation March. The buses departed from three locations, West Street, the Bronx and Local Headquarters.

A coalition of progressive, union and civil rights groups marched by the thousands Saturday on the Lincoln Memorial and pledged to support Democrats this November 2nd. The One Nation March was intended to show America that the Democrats are still united and strong in spite of difficult times.

From what was witnessed Saturday, the fear mongering Republicans and their supporters cannot seriously believe that they have an edge over Democrats in the upcoming election. Now, we must vote for constituents that favor our political positions in order to move this country forward.

Television personality, Ed Schultz, host of ‘”The Ed Show” was the first to speak at the One Nation March event and was followed by the Reverend Al Sharpton and Harry Belafonte. Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr., Victoria Rowell, Sen. Guitterez, and Richard Trumpka also spoke at the event.

The speakers focused on issues involving Civil Rights, Immigration, Gay Rights, Women Rights, Equal Education, Voting Rights, and the Economy. Overall, the message encouraged everyone to get out and vote this November 2, 2010.

Most of the people that attended the One Nation March left the Lincoln Memorial feeling rejuvenated and excited about casting their vote in the upcoming election.

We want to thank our Members for getting on the bus.
